1. Solh, Hasti, Ruhi

This project is inspired by three Persian words: Solh (Peace) (صلح), Hasti (Existence) (هستی), and Ruhi (Soul) (روحی). These concepts are sectioned through a deep inhale. 

Solh explores peace through repetition, glitches, swelling pads, and beds of field recordings from parks and forests.

Hasti focuses on every-day sounds: breath, room ambience, electrical hum, and field recordings from marches and environmental recordings that reflect daily existence. Familiar sounds through Hasti become uncanny through repetition and building distortion.

Ruhi then turns inward, using fragments of memories, to explore consciousness and perception. 

Inspired by KMRU, Hayley Suviste, Francisco López, Tim Hecker, and Milo Thesiger-Meacham, the piece was made using field recordings, modular synthesis, granular synthesis, and digital tools in Ppooll and Ableton Live.
